How do I record a trip?
On the home screen, tap “New Trip”, then “Start Trip”. Recording continues with the screen off, and a banner on the home screen takes you back to it. Tap “Stop Trip” to save it.
How do I use the map without internet?
Before leaving, download the area: ⬇ on the home screen or Settings › Offline Maps. Frame the area, choose whether to include relief, then tap “Download Visible Area”. Prefer Wi-Fi: a large area can take tens of MB.
How do I go back the way I came?
Open the trip, tap “Navigate Back”, then “Start Return Trip” and follow the dotted line. If you leave it, the phone rings and vibrates, even in your pocket (Settings › Return Route Alerts).
How do I share a trip?
Open the trip and tap “Share Trip”: by QR code (no internet needed, the other phone scans it with RouteLog), as a RouteLog file, or as GPX for other GPS apps.
How do I avoid losing my trips?
They are stored only on your phone. Regularly use Settings › Back Up All Trips and keep the file (email, WhatsApp, Drive…). To get them back: Settings › Import Trips.
The GPS position is inaccurate or missing
Go outside and wait a moment. Check that RouteLog has location access in the phone settings. To record with the screen off, choose “Always” on iPhone or “Allow all the time” on Android.
How do I change the language?
Settings › Language: phone language, English, Français or العربية.
